Nigel has broad experience in remediation, in managing large teams, both direct employees, and consultants and contractors, overseeing due diligence with statutory bodies, and planning sensitive and effective resident liaison, PR and stakeholder engagement.
Whatever his client needs, he likes to take ownership of work and make sure it’s seen through to completion. Having qualified as a Civil and Structural Engineering technician, Nigel is technically very competent and constantly drives his team to deliver best-in-class solutions.
He has successfully led on a number of high profile ‘problem’ situations for clients and contractors alike. Before becoming a consultant, Nigel spent 15 years with Countryside Properties as their Director of Quality Control and Customer Service.
He is known for his ability to communicate empathetically with people right across the spectrum, including home owners and residents. This allows Nigel to ensure that his projects are always mindful of the expectations of all stakeholders.
John’s known for his ability to take a very complex construction issue, break it down into a clear plan of what’s needed to fix it and communicate that to everyone involved (while also making sure the documentation and recording is spot on.)
Having run his own successful construction company for a number of years, John was approached to work with a large developer who found themselves running into difficulties on a development in London.
After the main contractor pulled out of their contract, and the scale of their defects became apparent, John’s role quickly became one of a full remediation project for the 5 residential blocks, 9 commercial units and associated communal spaces.
His expertise in procurement and complex construction projects helped him to procure and manage the successful completion of works, including the compartmentation of 379 flats and all associated corridors across 4 residential blocks and a full façade replacement for 15,400m2 of insulated render facade and 4,100m2 of inert rainscreen cladding.
John has also spent time working in a Financial Services marketplace, which has engrained excellent analytical discipline in everything he does – and is invaluable when looking at projects with a large degree of reliance of QAQC processes and documentation.
His mantra that “the only way to do anything is to do it right” blends perfectly with his zero tolerance approach when dealing with defects – he won’t let our clients do something poorly twice!
